Flag Pie — Can You Guess the Country from Just Its Flag Colors?

One country, every day. We turn its flag into a pie chart where each slice is one color at its true size — red, white, gold, and everything between. You get five guesses to name the country, and each miss reveals a hint.

Today's puzzle

One country, every day. We turn its flag into a pie chart of colours — name the country before you run out of tries. Five guesses, and each miss reveals a hint.

    Which country's flag is this?

    How It Works

A daily puzzle that takes under a minute. Each round starts with a single pie and nothing else — no flag, no name, no clues until you earn them.

    01

    See Today's Color Pie

One country's flag has been cut into a pie chart, slice by slice, sized to the flag's true proportions. The legend next to it lists each color and its exact percentage of the flag.

    02

    Type a Country Guess

Start typing and the country box suggests names — you can guess any of the world's 195 countries. Wrong guesses don't end the game: each one unlocks another hint.

    03

Win in Five, or Miss the Pie

Guess right and the real flag is revealed with your streak intact. Miss five times and the answer is shown anyway. Every day has its own page, so you can share, compare, and come back tomorrow.

Other Ways to Play on CountryDraw

Flag Pie is one of several daily challenges built on the same idea — learn geography by reconstructing it from memory, a little every day.

Why Guess a Flag From Its Colors?

    👁️ Colors Are a Flag's First Identity

Before the layout or the emblem, color is what your eye registers — and it's remarkably distinctive. Roughly a quarter of the world's flags are red, white, and blue, but the exact proportions differ wildly, and those proportions are the clue.

    🧠 Percentages Train Precision

Most people know Italy is green, white, and red — few know it's one third each. Flag Pie makes you hold the amount of each color, a much sharper memory than the palette alone, and the same skill behind estimating maps and charts.

🗺️ A New Country Every Day

Because the pick never repeats the previous day, a month of play tours the whole world's flags. Pair it with flag drawing to learn each one's construction, or the country shapes game for the geography side.

    📅 Always a Fresh Puzzle

Static, shareable pages mean every day is linkable forever — no "sorry, that round is over." Play today on this page, then follow the links to yesterday, tomorrow's teaser, or any date you want to revisit.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play Flag Pie?
Every day CountryDraw picks one country and turns its flag into a pie chart of the flag's colors, sized to the exact proportions. You get five guesses to name the country. Type any country into the box — if you're wrong, one more hint is revealed (continent, name length, starting letter, or difficulty). Guess it and you win, with your streak saved on this device.
Is Flag Pie different from flagpie.net?
Yes. flagpie.net is a single-page app: everyone sees the same current game and there is no way to link to or bookmark any past puzzle. CountryDraw publishes a brand-new, static page for every single day's Flag Pie at a stable URL like /challenge/flag-pie/2026-09-02/. You can bookmark it, link to it, and share it forever — and each day's answer page is fully crawlable by search engines, so you can even search for the answer to a past day.
What do the colors in the pie mean?
The pie is a real color histogram of the day's flag. Each slice is one color used on the flag, and the size of the slice is the exact fraction of the flag's area that color covers — a 77% red flag shows a pie that is 77% red. The percentages come from measuring the actual flag artwork, so the pie is accurate to the pixel.
How is the daily country chosen?
Each date maps to a country through a fixed, repeatable calculation — the same date always gives the same country, on every device, forever. The pool is the set of flags on this site, and the pick deliberately never repeats the previous day, so you get a fresh country every morning. You can see the exact pick for any date on that date's own page.
Do I need to make an account or sign up?
No. Flag Pie is free and has no accounts. Your win streak, best score, and the games you've played are saved privately in your own browser (localStorage), so if you clear your site data you start fresh. On this page you play today's puzzle; the Archive page and every date's own page show all past puzzles with their answers.
